Learn professional chocolate-making techniques at this chocolate workshop in the Choco-Story Colmar Museum. Explore the museum's interactive exhibits as part of your visit.
Activity Details
Welcome to Choco-Story Colmar! On the day of your visit, head to 12 Place de la Cathédrale in Colmar.
Begin with a chocolate-making workshop lasting 45 minutes, where you'll learn techniques such as dipping while decorating your own chocolate bars. Guided by a chocolatier, you'll create treats to take home.
After the workshop, explore the museum's interactive exhibit, which covers the history of the cacao bean. Using an audio guide in English, you'll learn about cocoa's origins and its introduction to Europe by conquistadors in the 15th century.
The exhibit highlights the significant role of cocoa in Mayan, Aztec, and Inca cultures. Interactive stations allow you to experience different cocoa aromas and understand the chocolate-making process.
A key feature is a sculpture of the Statue of Liberty made entirely from cocoa, honoring Auguste Bartholdi, the statue's creator born in Colmar.
Your visit concludes with a chocolate-tasting session.
