Join this tour to Carmelo and visit some of the most important wine-producing towns in Uruguay. Historic buildings, beaches, and exquisite wines await you.
Description
At the scheduled time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Colonia del Sacramento and travel to Carmelo, a city known for its mix of cultures and architectural richness.
Upon arrival, you'll have 5 hours of free time to explore the city’s wine tradition. Recommended sites include the Calera de las Huérfanas, a significant Jesuit construction linked to the Colegio de Niñas Huérfanas de Buenos Aires. Another key site is the Carmelo Bridge, the first swing bridge of its kind in Uruguay. You may also visit the yacht dock, mountain quarries, or relax at Zagarzazú or Seré Beaches.
To complete your tour, visit one of the traditional wineries to sample some wine and food. The tour includes a ticket to two wineries of your choosing.
Finally, we'll reconvene at the agreed time and return you to your hotel in Colonia del Sacramento after approximately 6 or 7 hours.
