Comillas Free Tour

On this free tour of Comillas, we'll visit the so-called 'village of the archbishops'.

Description

We'll meet at the Fuente de los Tres Caños (Fountain of the Three Spouts) in the Plaza Joaquín del Piélago to start our tour.

The tour includes architectural highlights such as the New Town Hall, Ocejo House, La Portilla, Las Cavaducas, Sobrellano Palace, and Gaudi's Capricho. We will explore intriguing aspects of these buildings.

Next, we will visit the Pontifical University and examine details of its façade. The route continues through the Modernist Residence, Cemetery, Statue of the Marquis of Comillas, House of the Duke of Almodóvar del Río, Espolón Cultural Center, Corro San Pedro, San Cristóbal Church, and the Old Town Hall.

We'll also see the building that once housed King Afonso XII and learn about Comillas' brief role as the capital of Spain. Additionally, we will discover a sculpture that was relocated due to fitting issues.

Throughout the tour, we will discuss the significant link between Comillas and cinema. The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and concludes in the town center.
