Rei do Mato and Maquiné Caves + Guimaraes Rosa Museum Tour

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Belo Horizonte to make our way towards the Rei do Mato Cave, located in the city of Sete Lagoas.

Extending to 998 metres (3274 ft.) in length, Rei do Mato is one of the largest caves in Minas Gerais. In this cavern, we'll tour 220 metres (721 ft.) where we'll see imposing stalactites and stalagmites.

Afterwards, we'll begin the journey towards the Maquiné Cave, in Codisburgo. This cave is considered the cradle of palaeontology in Brazil. There, we'll visit 7 galleries carved out by nature.

Then, you'll have an hour of free time to grab a bite to eat, and after that, we'll head to the Guimarães Rosa Museum-House in Codisburgo. This historic spot was home to renowned writer João Guimarães Rosa. Inside, we'll see an exhibition of more than 700 pieces related to his life and legacy.

Finally, we'll return to Belo Horizonte, concluding our adventure after 10 hours.
