Sabará + Congonhas Tour
Pickup from your hotel in Belo Horizonte occurs at the scheduled time, after which we head east. The first stop is Sabará, where a guided tour of the old town takes place. Highlights include the monuments of Dom Pedro II street, the church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos, the Municipal Theatre, and the churches of Nossa Senhora do Ó and Nossa Senhora do Carmo.
The tour continues at the Kaquende fountain, with a local legend suggesting that those who drink from it will always return to Sabará. Following this, participants will have an hour free for lunch at a restaurant.
After lunch, the tour proceeds to Congonhas for a visit to the local museum and the sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos. The tour includes an exhibition of 66 processional steps carved by Aleijadinho, a major figure of Brazilian baroque, as well as the sculptures of the Twelve Prophets created by him.
Finally, we return to Belo Horizonte, with arrival at your hotel scheduled 10 hours after the initial pickup.
