Conversano & Rutigliano Tour

At the appointed time, we'll meet in front of the Conversano Castle to start a tour through this medieval town.

In front of the castle, a symbol of the town, we'll discuss the features of this Norman fortress. Once inside, we'll visit the reception rooms and the wedding hall of Count Giangirolamo II Acquaviva d'Aragona, known as Guecio di Puglia.

The tour continues at the Monastery of San Benedetto di Conversano, where we’ll explore the medieval cloister and the second cloister, which houses an archaeological exhibition of the civic museum. We will also stop at the Conversano Cathedral, known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, showcasing Romanesque architecture.

After touring the walls of Conversano, you will follow the guide in your own vehicle to Rutigliano for a walking tour of the historic center.

As we walk through its streets, we'll share insights about the figurine tradition of Rutigliano, particularly the whistle of Rutigliano, known as the town of terracotta whistles.

After visiting the Norman castle and the town's main noble palaces, we'll conclude the tour back at the meeting point in Conversano, five hours after departure.
