Conversano & Rutigliano Tour
At the appointed time, we'll meet in front of the Conversano Castle to start a tour through this medieval town.
In front of the castle, a symbol of the town, we'll discuss the peculiarities of this Norman fortress. Once inside, we'll visit the reception rooms and the wedding hall of Count Giangirolamo II Acquaviva d'Aragona, known as Guecio di Puglia.
The tour continues at the Monastery of San Benedetto di Conversano, including the medieval cloister and a 17th-century arcade housing an archaeological exhibition. Before moving on, we'll stop at the Conversano Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, featuring Romanesque architecture.
After touring the walls of Conversano, you'll follow the guide in your own vehicle to Rutigliano, where we'll participate in a walking tour of the historic center.
As we walk through its streets, we'll share information about the figurine tradition of Rutigliano, particularly the Rutigliano whistle. Rutigliano is recognized as the town of terracotta whistles.
The tour will conclude at the meeting point in Conversano, five hours after departure.
