Conversano & Rutigliano Tour

At the appointed time, we'll meet in front of the Conversano Castle to start a tour through this medieval town. In front of the castle, we'll discuss its characteristics. Inside, we'll visit the reception rooms and the wedding hall of Count Giangirolamo II Acquaviva d'Aragona, known as Guecio di Puglia.

The tour continues at the Monastery of San Benedetto di Conversano, where we'll explore the medieval cloister and the 17th-century arcade housing the archaeological exhibition of the civic museum. We will also stop at the Conversano Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, featuring Romanesque architecture.

After touring the walls of Conversano, you'll follow the guide in your own vehicle to Rutigliano, where we'll embark on a walking tour of the historic center. As we walk through its streets, we'll discuss the figurine tradition of Rutigliano, particularly the whistle of Rutigliano, known for its terracotta craftsmanship.

After visiting the Norman castle and the main noble palaces, we'll conclude the tour back at the meeting point in Conversano, five hours after departure.
