Tour Overview

Prepare to witness the majestic giants of the Chilean Pacific! Our journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in La Serena at the scheduled time. We will travel approximately 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) northward, arriving at the picturesque Chañaral de Aceituno.

Upon arrival, we will make our way to the coastline to board the vessel that will navigate towards the island of Chañaral de Aceituno. This island spans over 6 square kilometers (2.3 square miles) and is part of the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve, hosting a diverse array of marine wildlife.

Throughout the boat excursion, be on the lookout for otters nestled among the rocky shores. When the moment is right, we will anchor at an optimized viewing spot for our first encounter with humpback whales. These magnificent creatures frequent this area, drawn by the abundant food and ideal conditions for nurturing their young.

Add to your experience as we spot various migratory birds, sea turtles, albatrosses, and bottlenose dolphins, while keeping an eye out for penguins in the distance. Be sure to have your camera ready for remarkable photos!

After our explorations, we will return to shore and begin our journey back, stopping at a local eatery to indulge in a hearty 3-course Chilean meal.
