On this whale-watching experience, we'll visit Chañaral de Aceituno, known for its marine animals. A lunch will be provided.

Tour Details

The journey begins with a pickup from your hotel in La Serena at the scheduled time. We will drive 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) north to Chañaral de Aceituno.

Upon arrival, we’ll go to the coast to board a boat to the island of Chañaral de Aceituno, which spans over 6 square kilometers (2.3 square miles) of natural life and is part of the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve, home to numerous marine animals.

During the boat trip, keep an eye out for otters among the rock formations. We will anchor at a strategic observation location where we may see humpback whales, attracted to the area by favorable conditions for their young.

You may also observe migratory birds, sea turtles, albatrosses, bottlenose dolphins, and possibly penguins in the distance. Remember to bring your camera!

After the boat tour, we will return to dry land and visit a local restaurant for a 3-course Chilean lunch. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel 10 hours after pickup.
