On this whale-watching experience, we will visit Chañaral de Aceituno, known for its marine wildlife, and include a lunch.
Tour Details
The journey begins with a hotel pickup in La Serena at the scheduled time. We will then drive 120 kilometres (74.5 miles) north to Chañaral de Aceituno.
After arriving, we will board a boat to explore the island of Chañaral de Aceituno, which spans over 6 square kilometres (2.3 square miles) and is part of the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve, hosting diverse marine life.
During the boat ride, keep an eye out for otters along the coast. We will anchor at a prime location to observe humpback whales, which thrive in this area due to abundant food and safe conditions for their calves.
Other wildlife sightings may include migratory birds, sea turtles, albatrosses, bottlenose dolphins, and possibly penguins. Please have your camera ready.
After returning to land, we will visit a local restaurant for a 3-course Chilean lunch before heading back. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel 10 hours after the initial pickup.
