On this trip from La Serena, we will visit one of the three most important astronomical centres in the Elqui Valley, offering a unique experience under one of the clearest skies in the world.

Tour Options

When booking, you can choose between 3 options. All last 5 hours, include hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, and admission to the selected observatory.

Omega Observatory Visit

At the Omega astronomical observatory, an informative talk will be provided about recognizing the sky. Using high-end telescopes, participants will observe celestial objects such as planets and galaxies. The experience includes discussions on the Greek worldview and indigenous astronomical theories. A digital astrophotography photo will be taken before returning to the hotel.

Alfa Aldea Observatory Visit

The visit begins with a 3D video about the universe, followed by viewing the sky through telescopes after a preparatory explanation. Clear skies will reveal details like star cradles and planetary features, guided by experts' reports.

Mamalluca Observatory Visit

The Mamalluca Astronomical Observatory offers family-friendly activities. After a welcome talk about the Solar System, participants will use manual telescopes to explore the sky, demonstrating the area's clarity.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels located in the centre of La Serena, from Avenida del Mar to Hotel de la Bahía.
