On this trip from La Serena, we'll take you to visit one of the three most important astronomical centres in the Elqui Valley under one of the clearest skies in the world.

Tour Options

You can choose between 3 options. All last 5 hours and include hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, and admission to the selected observatory.

Omega Observatory Visit

At the Omega astronomical observatory, we'll provide an informative talk on recognizing the sky. Using two high-end telescopes, we'll observe various celestial objects, including planets and galaxies. We'll discuss the Greek worldview and indigenous astronomical theories. A digital astrophotography photo will be taken to commemorate the visit.

Schedule: This option runs from Thursday to Saturday at 5:45 pm.

Alfa Aldea Observatory Visit

This visit begins with a 3D video presentation, followed by observations through the telescopes. We will explain the significance of the Elqui Valley for astronomical studies and observe details like star cradles and planet craters.

Schedule: This option runs from Monday to Sunday at 5:45 pm.

Mamalluca Observatory Visit

At the Mamalluca Astronomical Observatory, you will receive a talk about the Solar System. You will have the opportunity to observe the sky using manual telescopes.

Schedule: This option runs from Thursday to Saturday at 5:45 pm.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels located in the centre of La Serena, from Avenida del Mar to the Hotel de la Bahía.
