Stargazing in the Elqui Valley
Your experience will commence with a pickup at your accommodation in La Serena. From there, we will make our way into the scenic Elqui River Valley, heading towards Vicuña.
Situated on the outskirts of this charming town, known as the birthplace of Gabriela Mistral, are several observatories including Amatista, Pangue, Mamalluca, Collowara , and Omega. Our itinerary will allow us to visit one or more of these, subject to availability.
Upon arrival at this renowned astronomical facility, a brief introductory talk on astronomy will await you. Did you know that the Elqui Valley is celebrated for having some of the clearest skies on the planet? Following the talk, we will engage in an extraordinary stargazing session, utilizing high-powered electronic telescopes to appreciate the magnificent celestial sphere. As we connect with the night sky, expect to observe planets, galaxies, and constellations, an exhilarating experience!
Your adventure continues with a guiding stargazing session, where you can unwind on comfortable yoga mats wrapped in soft blankets. With a laser pointer, we'll navigate through constellations and stars, accompanied by an enthralling narrative about the origins of our universe. Additionally, partake in a sound therapy experience featuring Tibetan bowls, quartz, and gongs to foster a deeper connection to the tranquil night sky.
Ultimately, we will make our way back to La Serena, arriving at your hotel approximately 6 hours after the initial pickup.
