Embark on a day trip to Damas Island, where an exploration of the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve awaits, showcasing stunning landscapes and a variety of local wildlife.

Tour Details

Our adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in La Serena at the prearranged time. As we journey forward, you'll be treated to the breathtaking sights of Quebrada Juan Soldado, renowned as the oldest legend in Chile, along with the geological sanctuary of Caleta Hornos.

After about an hour on the road, we will stop at the Quebrada Los Choros. Here, a chance to explore the region's indigenous flora and fauna, marking the start of the Atacama Desert, awaits. Continuing our drive for another 30 minutes, we will reach the quaint cove of Punta de Choros. Upon arrival at the pier, an exhilarating boat trip will commence, leading us to the prominent islands of the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve. Prepare to be captivated by the vibrant marine fauna endemic to this Chilean archipelago!

Our first sailing destination will be Choros Island, known for its extensive colony of Humboldt penguins. Keep an eye out for sea lions and marine otters basking along the shores. This island also serves as a vital habitat for an array of bird life, including pelicans and boobies, making it a notable ornithological site.

The journey will progress to Damas Island, where sightings of bottlenose dolphins swimming in the waters are likely. We will take the opportunity to anchor here, granting you an hour of free time to enjoy the idyllic beach of Las Tijeras. Note that to maintain the beach's immaculate beauty, activities such as swimming, eating, or drinking are prohibited.

As our boat excursion concludes, we will return to the port at Punta de Choros. After disembarking, we'll visit a nearby restaurant to savor a delectable Chilean lunch. The menu features a starter, main dish, dessert, and a beverage, with vegetarian options available to accommodate all preferences.

Before we head back to La Serena, we will make a final stop in the historic town of Los Choros. Famous for its ancient olive trees and as a campsite utilized by Pedro de Valdivia during his conquest of Chile, this charming village is a must-see. Following our visit, we will return to your hotel in La Serena, with arrival estimated between 10 and 11 hours after the initial pickup.
