Join us on a journey through an Argentine city's history and architecture on our Córdoba Churches Tour. We'll visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption and churches belonging to Capuchin and Jesuit orders.

Córdoba Churches Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at your hotel in central Córdoba. From there, we'll walk to San Martín Square and visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, one of the main Catholic buildings in the province.

Inside the Cathedral, we will observe the Renaissance decoration from colonial times, the barrel vault, and the high altar featuring embossed silver artwork from Upper Peru. We will also pause in front of the tombs of two significant figures, dean Gregorio Funes and aristocrat Margarita Weild.

Nearby, we will visit the Church of Saint Teresa and the Monastery of Saint José de las Carmelitas Descalzas, learning about cloistered life. The tour will proceed to the Church of the Society of Jesus, the oldest church in Córdoba and a World Heritage Site.

The last stop will be the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, known as Los Capuchinos Church. This neo-Gothic church from the early 20th century features vaults decorated with stars and artwork depicting the life of Saint Francis of Assisi.

After 2 hours 30 minutes, we will conclude the tour at Los Capuchinos Church. An optional climb of the bell tower is available for panoramic views.

Meeting point

Our walking tour will start from your hotel in the city centre. If you are staying outside the centre, you will need to make your way to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in San Martín Square, where the guide will be at the main entrance at the intersection of Independencia and San Jerónimo Streets.
