Discover the religious and cultural legacy of the Society of Jesus on our Córdoba Jesuit Block Tour. We'll explore this monumental space, declared a World Heritage Site.

Córdoba Jesuit Block Tour

The tour will begin at the courtyard of the Historical Museum of the National University of Córdoba, where we'll meet at your chosen time. This institution, founded by the Society of Jesus in 1613, is the oldest university in Argentina and one of the oldest in Latin America.

In the cloister of the UNC, we'll see the sculpture of Friar Fernando Trejo y Sanabria. The visit will continue to the Salón de Grados (former Chapel of the Spaniards) and the Main Library, which has an outstanding bibliography.

After visiting the UNC, we'll see other notable buildings from outside, such as the Colegio Nacional de Monserrat and the Church of the Society of Jesus. Inside, we'll view the main altarpiece, depicting St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Francis Xavier.

We will also visit the Jesuit Domestic Chapel, built in the 17th century, to learn about the Cordovan legacy of the Jesuits.

After 2 hours 30 minutes of sightseeing, we'll conclude on Colón Avenue, where we’ll visit the Jesuit Crypt of the Old Novitiate.
