Delve into the history of the Alcázar of Córdoba on this fascinating tour that also includes a guided visit to the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba.

We'll meet at 10 am at Plaza del Triunfo, near the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. After learning about its origins, we'll begin the guided tour of its interior.

During this historic place of worship, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will visit extensions ordered by emirs such as Abderramán III and Alhakén II. We will walk through the forest of columns, reaching the mihrab, a beautifully decorated horseshoe-arched prayer niche.

We will also visit the nave of the transept, then proceed to the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, reviewing its history and viewing remains from Roman times.

Inside the Alcázar, we'll visit the Hall of the Mosaics, which previously housed a chapel from the Spanish Inquisition. We will conclude by enjoying the Alcázar Gardens and the famous sculpture of the Catholic Monarchs meeting Christopher Columbus.

After 3 to 3.5 hours, our guided tour will conclude at the main entrance of the Alcázar.

Important Info

Due to structural reform inside the Alcázar of Córdoba, access to under-construction rooms will not be possible. Instead, we will explore its historic gardens and the Monolito de Cristóbal Colón, along with a visit to the Caliphal Baths, reflecting the splendor of the Caliphate past.
