Tour Details
We will meet at the entrance of the Old Fortress of Corfu to begin this guided tour of the city's significant sites.
The tour will start with a walk through the tree-lined Boschetto Garden and continue to the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, which served as a summer residence for a royal Greek family and now houses the Museum of Asian Art of Corfu.
Next, we will proceed along the pedestrian street of Listón to reach Spianada Square, the largest square in Corfu's old town and one of the largest in Europe, where cricket games are occasionally held.
We will then view the Teatro di San Giacomo, known as the center of Greek opera from 1733 to 1893 and where Antonio Vivaldi rehearsed, later becoming the City Hall in 1903.
Finally, the tour will lead us to the Jewish Quarter to learn about the history of the Jewish community in Corfu, which dates back to the 12th century.
The tour will conclude after 2.5 hours near the starting point in the old town.
