Free Tour of Cork
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Cork Opera House to begin our free tour of the second-largest city in Ireland. The tour lasts almost 2 hours and will cover the historic center of Cork while discussing the city's history. The origins of the city trace back to the 7th century with St. Finbar's abbey.
Throughout the tour, we will visit notable sites including St. Anne's Church, St. Mary and St. Anne's Cathedral, and Bishop Lucey Park. We will highlight Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral, known for its copper and gold foil angel on the façade.
Additionally, we will see Elizabeth Fort, which has defended Cork for over 400 years. The Vikings arrived in 820 AD, establishing their own settlement on an island in the River Lee.
The tour concludes at the National Monument, where we will say our goodbyes.
