Free Tour of Cork

At the scheduled time, we'll meet up at the Cork Opera House and set off on our free tour. Ready to explore the second-largest city in Ireland?

For almost 2 hours, we'll stroll through the picturesque historic center of Cork while learning about the fascinating history of the city. Do you know who its founders were? Perhaps the importance of its harbor will give you a clue. We'll tell you how the city has evolved over time since the 7th century when St. Finbar built an abbey in this area.

We'll pass by places like St. Anne's Church, St. Mary and St. Anne's Cathedral, and Bishop Lucey Park. Then we'll arrive at Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral, famous for the stunning copper and gold foil angel that adorns its façade.

Nearby we'll come across Elizabeth Fort, used for over 400 years to defend Cork from invaders. Did you know that the Vikings arrived in the city in 820 AD? Back then, they built their own city on an island in the River Lee.

The tour will come to an end and we'll say our goodbyes when we reach the National Monument.
