Ring of Kerry Expedition
Our adventure begins at 9 am at St. Patrick's Quay, where we will depart from Cork to uncover the most breathtaking views in Ireland along the renowned Ring of Kerry scenic route.
As we head westward, we'll experience a sense of journeying back in time at Kerry Bog Village in Glenbeigh. This open-air museum preserves the traditional way of life that has characterized this region through the ages. As we walk among thatched cottages, quaint restaurants, and historic homes, we’ll delve into the area’s rich history.
Next, we will continue our tour, taking in the awe-inspiring Skellig Islands, which are most famous as the backdrop for two recent Star Wars movies.
Following the Ring of Kerry, we will visit the lovely villages of Waterville and Coomakista. As we explore various points of interest, you’ll discover intriguing details about each location. For instance, did you know that Waterville was a favorite getaway for Charlie Chaplin? Arriving in the charming village of Sneem, you’ll be captivated by its vibrantly painted houses.
After this exploration, it will be time for lunch, providing you with an hour of free time to dine at a local establishment. We suggest sampling the fish, a delightful regional specialty! Refreshed, we will resume our journey through the undulating hills and mountains that define Kerry County, taking in sights such as Moll's Gap and the impressive MacGillycuddy's Reeks.
Our adventure continues into the enchanting woods of Killarney National Park. We will visit Lough Leane, the largest of the park’s three lakes, before making our way to the town of Killarney. Here, you will have the chance to explore one of the Ring of Kerry’s key towns at your own pace and even indulge in a scenic ride in a horse-drawn carriage.
As our excursion concludes, we will return to the starting point, dropping you off around 6 pm.
