Description
When you make your reservation, you'll have the choice between the following hiking routes in Talampaya National Park. Each tour will begin at the specified time from the Talampaya Canyon Operational Center.
Each route reaches an altitude of 1300 meters (4,265 feet), but their duration and difficulty levels vary:
Quebrada Don Eduardo (3 hours)
On this low-difficulty hike, we'll explore the beautiful Quebrada Don Eduardo. This gorge is a key site in Talampaya National Park.
During this roughly 3-hour hike, we will look for the majestic condor while enjoying the landscape. The journey begins with a view of the Talampaya riverbed from the La Catedral Gótica viewpoint.
We will admire the geological formation of El Flautista and take in the vista from the Geological Fault viewpoint. Our return includes navigating the Gothic Labyrinth.
Talampaya Canyon (3 hours)
This easy-paced trek covers approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles) through the Talampaya Canyon, renowned for its vivid reddish sandstone walls.
We will start at the petroglyphs area, examining archaeological remnants of the early inhabitants. The hike continues to the Awanda Cave before reaching the Talampaya Botanical Garden, featuring local cacti, retamos, and carob trees.
Quebrada Don Eduardo + Talampaya Canyon (4 hours)
This low-difficulty route offers a comprehensive experience of both previous routes over 4 hours, covering key sights and learning about geological features, wildlife, and native plants.
Quebrada Don Eduardo + Talampaya Canyon + Gran Mirador (5.5 hours)
This medium-difficulty route adds an ascent to the Gran Mirador, providing exceptional panoramas of the canyons and geological formations in Talampaya National Park, ideal for photography enthusiasts.
