When in northern France, don't miss the chance to secure your ticket to Coucy Castle, a significant site of French history and culture in Picardy.
Why visit the Coucy Castle?
Located in the Picardy region, Coucy Castle is one of the largest fortresses in northern France. With your entry ticket, you'll explore the remnants of this 13th-century bastion, built by Enguerrand III de Boves to protect his domain and display his power.
Though dismantled in 1652 and later used as a stone quarry until its acquisition by the French State in 1848, preservation efforts by architects such as Viollet-le-Duc have taken place. However, during World War I, many structures were destroyed by the German army.
Today, many remnants still stand, and your ticket allows you to walk the perimeter of the fortress, viewing a significant portion of the structure, including the remains of the castle's chapel and other architectural features.
