Calling all cycling aficionados! On this 10-day tour through Chilean Patagonia, we'll cycle the Carretera Austral Sur from Coyhaique to Caleta Tortel.

Carretera Austral Sur 10-Day Bike Tour

Day 1: Coyhaique

We meet at 4 pm at the Huella Patagonica hostel in Coyhaique to finalize route details. The day includes bike preparation, dinner, and rest at the hostel.

Day 2: Coyhaique - Villa Cerro Castillo

After breakfast, we cycle along Chile's Route 7 through the Cerro Castillo National Park, ending the day in a hostel in Villa Cerro Castillo.

Day 3: Villa Cerro Castillo - Murta Valley

Post-breakfast, we cycle on rugged paths to the Laguna Verde and picnic mid-route, finishing at a campsite in the Murta Valley.

Day 4: Murta Valley - Puerto Río Tranquilo

We continue through endemic forests to the Chilean shore of General Carrera Lake and take a boat ride through marble chapels before camping in Puerto Río Tranquilo.

Day 5: Puerto Río Tranquilo - Puerto Bertrand

Cycling along the lake shore, we explore views of Bertrand Lake and finish at a cabin in Puerto Bertrand.

Day 6: Puerto Bertrand - Cochrane

Continuing along the Baker River, we hike along river confluences and stay at a hostel in Cochrane.

Day 7: Cochrane - Los Ñadis

Peddling south past lakes, we end the day at a campsite in Los Ñadis.

Day 8: Los Ñadis - Caleta Tortel

We cycle through wetlands to Caleta Tortel, spending the night in a hostel known for its unique footbridges.

Day 9: Caleta Tortel - Coyhaique

After breakfast, we return by minibus to Coyhaique and overnight at the Huella Patagonica hostel.

Day 10: Coyhaique

Breakfast at the hostel in Coyhaique concludes the tour.

Accommodation & meals

The tour includes 9 nights of accommodation with breakfast in various hostels, cabins, and campsites. Lunches consist of snacks during rides and picnic bags. Dinners are at accommodations or local restaurants and are not included in the tour price.

Bike rental

An option to include a bike and helmet rental is available when booking; otherwise, you can book the tour without equipment.
