Carretera Austral Sur 10-Day Bike Tour

Day 1: Coyhaique

We meet at 4 PM at the Huella Patagonica hostel in Coyhaique, finalizing route details. The day includes bike preparation, dinner, and lodging at the hostel.

Day 2: Coyhaique - Villa Cerro Castillo

After breakfast, we cycle along Chile's Route 7, enjoying landscapes of Cerro Castillo National Park. Night spent in a hostel in Villa Cerro Castillo.

Day 3: Villa Cerro Castillo - Murta Valley

Following breakfast, we cycle on rugged paths to Laguna Verde, cross the Ibañez River dead forest, have a picnic, and camp in Murta Valley.

Day 4: Murta Valley - Puerto Río Tranquilo

After breakfast, we cycle through endemic forests to General Carrera Lake, visit Puerto Río Tranquilo, and take a boat ride through marble chapels, camping in town at night.

Day 5: Puerto Río Tranquilo - Puerto Bertrand

The day starts with a bike tour along General Carrera Lake, leading to a cabin in Puerto Bertrand after crossing different terrains.

Day 6: Puerto Bertrand - Cochrane

We cycle along the Baker River, go hiking at the confluence of the Baker and Neff rivers, and stay in a hostel in Cochrane.

Day 7: Cochrane - Los Ñadis

Continuing south, we pass lakes and arrive at a campsite in Los Ñadis.

Day 8: Los Ñadis - Caleta Tortel

We cycle through wetlands to Andean forests, finishing in a hostel in Caleta Tortel, noted for its Guaitecas cypress footbridges.

Day 9: Caleta Tortel - Coyhaique

After breakfast, we return by minibus to Coyhaique, spending the night at Huella Patagonica hostel.

Day 10: Coyhaique

Breakfast at the hostel concludes the 10-day cycling tour.

Accommodation & meals

The tour includes 9 nights’ accommodation with breakfast in various hostels and campsites throughout the itinerary. Lunches consist of snacks and picnic bags, while dinners are either at accommodations or local restaurants and are not included in the tour price.

Bike rental

Bike and helmet rental is available upon reservation. Alternatively, guests can opt to book the tour without cycling equipment.
