On this guided tour of the P?aszów Concentration Camp, we will explore the historical context behind key scenes in Schindler's List. This site reflects the atrocities of the Holocaust and the actions of Commandant Amon Göth. A walk through its landscape reveals a past that must be acknowledged.

Tour Details

We will meet at the designated time next to the Apteka Pod Or?em museum at Heroes' Square, the starting point for our history tour of P?aszów Concentration Camp.

Our first stops will include the Ghetto Memorial and the Eagle Pharmacy, symbols of resistance during Nazi rule. Additionally, we will visit Lwowska Street, where remnants of the wall separating the Jewish ghetto from the city remain.

We will then take a tram for two stops to the P?aszów Concentration Camp. Here, we will walk along Jerozolimska Street, and see structures like the camp railway station, warehouses, officers' clubhouse, administrative offices, and barracks. The ruins of the Jewish pre-burial hall remind us that the camp was established over former cemeteries.

We will stop at the "Grey House", a known torture site, and pass by the villa of Amon Göth, depicted in Schindler's List.

The tour will include visits to the former Jewish cemetery, the camp's roll-call square, and H-Hill, the site of mass executions, as well as C-Pit, where the large Torn Hearts monument commemorates the camp's victims.

Before returning to central Kraków, we will view the second entrance gate to the camp, encapsulating a space that, while now green, retains its historical weight.

After 2 hours of exploration, we will conclude the tour in the Kamie?skiego area, reflecting on a significant chapter of recent history.
