On this guided tour of the P?aszów Concentration Camp, we'll explore the historical context that inspired key scenes in Schindler's List, focusing on the Holocaust and the actions of Commandant Amon Göth.
Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time next to the Apteka Pod Or?em museum at Heroes' Square. This starting point highlights Krakow's Jewish history as we begin our tour of the P?aszów Concentration Camp. Initially, we will visit the Ghetto Memorial and the Eagle Pharmacy, symbols of resistance, followed by a stop at Lwowska Street, where remnants of the ghetto wall still exist.
Next, we'll take a tram for two stops to the P?aszów Concentration Camp. At the site, we will walk along Jerozolimska Street, observing the camp's former railway station, warehouses, and other significant structures. We'll also see the ruins of the Jewish pre-burial hall.
We'll visit the "Grey House", a known torture center, and view the villa of Amon Göth. The tour includes the former Jewish cemetery, the camp's roll-call square, and significant sites, including H-Hill and C-Pit, which now features the Torn Hearts monument for the camp's victims.
Concluding the tour after 2 hours, we will return to the center of Krakow by bus, passing the second entrance gate to the camp.
