Tour of Wawel Royal Hill
We will meet at the designated time on Kanonicza street, the location of a notable historical discovery. Our walk will begin as we ascend the cobblestone street towards Wawel Hill.
Upon arrival, we will visit two essential historical buildings in Krakow: the cathedral and the castle of Wawel. A local guide will share important Polish historical facts and insights about the royals.
As we explore the grounds, we will discuss various intriguing stories, including the alchemical experiments of Sigismund III Vasa that led to the significant fire of Wawel Castle and its aftermath. We will also view the spot where the only bomb dropped on Wawel during World War II landed and visit the Wawel Hill dragon, which offers a scenic view of southern Krakow. Remember to take photos!
The tour will conclude after an hour and a half of exploring and learning about Polish history.
