Travel back in time and discover some of the Polish city's most important historical sights on this World War II Tour of Krakow. Learn what life was like during this dark period of history.

Description

After meeting at St. Mary's Basilica in Krakow, we will begin our World War II history tour.

We will explore how the Nazi occupation unfolded in Krakow, its impact during the Second World War, and the experiences of its inhabitants. Our journey will take us through significant monuments.

Crossing Florianska Street, we will arrive at Market Square, a key site that experienced both celebrations and public executions, known during the occupation as Adolf Hitler Square.

We will visit important buildings from the Nazi occupation, including the headquarters of the Ordnungspolizei, and explore sites where the Armia Krajowa, or Polish resistance, engaged with the Nazis.

Next, at the Collegium Novum, our guide will discuss a dark episode of Krakow's wartime history. We will also stop at one of the Gestapo prisons and view the Katyn Cross, a symbol of Polish suffering.

The World War II tour of Krakow will conclude at the Grunwald Monument, two hours after our meeting.
