Travel back in time and discover some of the Polish city's most important historical sights on this World War II Tour of Krakow. Learn what life was like during this dark period of history.
Description
After meeting at St. Mary's Basilica in central Krakow at the specified time, we will begin our World War II history tour of the city.
The tour covers the Nazi occupation of Krakow, exploring significant events and daily life during this period while visiting important monuments.
We will cross Florianska Street to reach Market Square, a site of both celebrations and public executions, which was named after Adolf Hitler during the occupation.
The itinerary includes visits to key buildings from the Nazi occupation, such as the location of the Ordnungspolizei and sites where the Armia Krajowa, or Polish resistance, engaged with the Nazis.
We will proceed to the Collegium Novum, where the guide will discuss a notable dark episode of WWII in Krakow. The tour also includes a stop at a Gestapo prison and viewing the Katyn Cross, a symbol of Polish suffering.
The tour will conclude at the Grunwald Monument, 2 hours after the meeting.
