Bernal and Tequisquiapan Day Trip

At 7:40 am we'll meet in Mexico City and board a minibus to set off for the town of Bernal. After a two and a half hour journey, we'll reach the Peña de Bernal, the third-largest monolith in the world.

When we arrive, you'll have some free time to visit the Peña de Bernal. You can climb this enormous, solidified lava formation and also head down to the village of Bernal to explore its streets and get some lunch.

Having eaten lunch, we'll then set off for the village of Tequisquiapan, a place famous for its beautiful handicrafts. You'll be able to walk through its streets and you'll discover the works of local craftsmen from clay, ceramics, silver and opals to basketry and textiles. You're sure to find a unique souvenir to take home!

After visiting Tequisquiapan, we'll get back on the minibus and return to Mexico City, arriving by around 6 pm.

How Does It Work?

During this day trip, you will enjoy a comprehensive exploration of two remarkable destinations. The experience begins with a morning departure from Mexico City and a scenic drive to Bernal. Once there, a good amount of time is allotted for hiking the Peña de Bernal, allowing for a fulfilling climb or a relaxed stroll through the village, including time for lunch at your leisure.

Afterward, we will proceed to Tequisquiapan, where you will have the opportunity to browse local crafts, engaging with artisans and perhaps finding that special item to bring home. Once the visit is complete, the minibus will bring you back to Mexico City in the evening, concluding an enriching day.
