On this excursion to Cuernavaca and the Xochicalco Archaeological Site, we'll see one of the most important archaeological sites in Mexico and the Cathedral of Cuernavaca!

Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour

At 8 am, we will pick you up at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and proceed to Xochicalco. This site, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exemplifies the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era, showcasing the rise of cities in central Mexico after the Teotihuacan decline. Xochicalco, while less famous than Chichen Itza or Tulum, features impressive pyramids and plazas.

During the visit, we will explore the archaeological site and enter the Site Museum of Xochicalco to learn about Mayan culture. Following this, we'll travel to Cuernavaca to explore this colonial city and visit the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral, one of the oldest in the Americas.

After touring the cathedral, you will have 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

Following lunch, we will return you to the meeting point in Mexico City, arriving around 6 pm.
