Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour
Join us on this excursion to Cuernavaca and the Xochicalco Archaeological Site, showcasing significant archaeological landmarks in Mexico. We will depart at 8 am from the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and travel to Xochicalco, a unique site in Morelos.
The Xochicalco Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exemplifies the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era, notable for the rise of cities in central Mexico following the decline of Teotihuacan. While it may not be as renowned as Chichen Itza or Tulum, Xochicalco features impressive pyramids and plazas worth visiting.
After exploring the archaeological site, we will visit the Site Museum of Xochicalco to learn about Mayan culture. Subsequently, we will travel to Cuernavaca, a historical colonial city, where we will tour the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral, one of the oldest in the Americas.
After the cathedral tour, enjoy 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant. We will return to the meeting point in Mexico City around 6 pm.
