On this excursion to Cuernavaca and the Xochicalco Archaeological Site, participants will visit a significant archaeological site and the Cathedral of Cuernavaca.
Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour
At 8 am, pickup will be at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel to travel to Xochicalco, located in Morelos. This site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and exemplifies the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era, showcasing the emergence of cities in central Mexico.
Xochicalco, while less known than sites like Chichen Itza or Tulum, features impressive pyramids and plazas. Participants will explore the archaeological site and the Site Museum of Xochicalco to learn about Mayan culture.
Following the archaeological visit, the tour proceeds to Cuernavaca where a visit to the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral is included. After touring the cathedral, there will be 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
Post lunch, the group will return to the meeting point in Mexico City, with an estimated arrival around 6 pm.
