Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour
On this excursion, we'll visit the Xochicalco Archaeological Site and the Cathedral of Cuernavaca. At 8 am, we will pick you up at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and travel to Xochicalco, an important yet lesser-known site in the state of Morelos.
Xochicalco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era, marked by the rise of cities in central Mexico following the decline of Teotihuacan. It features significant pyramids and plazas worth exploring. We will also visit the Site Museum of Xochicalco to gain insights into Mayan culture.
After the archaeological site, we will head to Cuernavaca to explore this historic colonial city. Highlights include a visit to the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral, one of the oldest in the Americas.
You will have 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant before we return to the meeting point in Mexico City, expected at around 6 pm.
