On this excursion from Mexico City, we'll travel to the state of Morelos to visit 2 of its most important towns: Cuernavaca and the Magical Town of Tepoztlán.

Excursion to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán

At 8 am we'll pick you up at the Sheraton María Isabel? hotel and board a minibus towards the state of Morelos, specifically Cuernavaca.

After an hour and a half drive, we'll arrive in Cuernavaca for a guided tour of the Cuernavaca Cathedral, one of the oldest in the country, featuring 16th-century colonial architecture and frescoes characteristic of the Franciscan order.

Following the cathedral tour, we'll head to the Magical Town of Tepoztlán, located among mountains. We'll explore its streets and learn about its legends while enjoying the mountain scenery.

Tepoztlán is known as the birthplace of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god. We will learn about this and more at the Tepozteco Archaeological Site. The visit will also include the local market and the old Dominican Convent of the Nativity.

After the guided tour, you'll have 2 hours of free time for local cuisine and further exploration of Tepoztlán. We'll regroup and return to the starting point, arriving around 6 pm.
