Excursion to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán

On this excursion from Mexico City, we'll travel to the state of Morelos to visit 2 of its most important towns: the Cuernavaca Cathedral and the Magical Town of Tepoztlán.

Excursion to Cuernavaca & Tepoztlán

At 8 am we'll pick you up at your hotel Sheraton María Isabel and hop on a minibus to drive to Cuernavaca.

After an hour and a half drive, we'll arrive in Cuernavaca for a guided tour of the Cuernavaca Cathedral, one of the oldest in the country, featuring 16th-century colonial architecture and frescoes reflecting the style of the Franciscan order.

Following the cathedral tour, we will head to the Magical Town of Tepoztlán. This town, known for its scenic mountainous backdrop, will be explored on foot, uncovering its legends and admiring the landscape.

Tepoztlán is reputed to be the birthplace of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god. We'll discover this and other stories at the Tepozteco Archaeological Site. Additionally, we will visit the local market and the old Dominican Convent of the Nativity.

After the guided tour, you'll have 2 hours of free time to enjoy Mexican cuisine in a local restaurant and explore Tepoztlán at your leisure.

We will regroup and return, arriving at the starting point around 6 pm.
