Hiking up Mount Tlaloc

Meet at Av. Vicente Suarez and Av. Michoacán to begin the hike up Mount Tlaloc in the Sierra de Río Frío. Travel by minibus through Texoco and San Pablo Ixayoc to reach the dirt road leading to the starting point. Trek uphill through a pine forest, learning about the local flora and fauna. Reach the summit at 13,517 feet for stunning views and a visit to the highest archaeological site in Mesoamerica.

Explore the sacred Aztec site with insights into its significance for the Aztec raingod Tlaloc and unique astronomical phenomena. Enjoy a break to admire volcanoes Iztaccihuatl, La Malinche, and possibly Pico de Orizaba before descending back to Mexico City. A picnic lunch is included before the return journey, totaling approximately 14.5 hours.
