On this trip to Mineral del Chico from Mexico City you'll get the chance to discover a charming mining village surrounded by lush forests.
Mineral del Chico Day Trip
At 7:45 am we'll meet outside the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel to board a minibus for a two-hour journey to Mineral del Chico. We'll pass through Chico National Park, known for its diverse tree species from America and Europe.
Upon arrival, we will partake in a guided tour of the mining town, featuring notable sites such as the neoclassical Iglesia de la Purísima Concepción.
En route to the mine, we will see the Casa de las Brujas and the Montaña de las Monjas, learning about their unique names.
At the mine, we will explore over a kilometer inside to understand the miners' daily life.
After the mine visit, we will head back to the village to explore its gastronomic market and enjoy a well-deserved lunch, with a recommendation to try the large 30-centimeter quesadillas.
We will conclude the trip by boarding the minibus for our return to Mexico City, arriving at approximately 6 pm.
