At 7:45 am, we'll meet outside the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel to board a minibus for a two-hour journey to Mineral del Chico. Along the way, we'll traverse the Chico National Park, one of Mexico's oldest parks. From the minibus, participants can enjoy the diverse array of trees from both America and Europe that populate this remarkable park.

Upon arrival, a guided tour of the mining town will commence. As we stroll through the streets, we'll admire notable monuments, including the neoclassical Iglesia de la Purísima Concepción.

During the tour to the mine that lends the village its name, we'll pass by the Casa de las Brujas and the Montaña de las Monjas, which translate to the House of the Witches and the Mountain of the Nuns. Join the tour to learn about the origins of these distinctive names!

As we enter the mine, we will venture over a kilometre deep into the mountain, discovering the daily lives of the miners who work there.

Following the mine visit, we'll return to the village to check out its famous gastronomic market and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. A variety of tantalizing options will await, though we suggest sampling the huge 30-centimetre quesadillas.

At the conclusion of the trip, we'll board the minibus for our return to Mexico City, expected to arrive by around 6 pm.
