On this day trip, you'll explore two of Mexico's oldest cities, Puebla and Cholula, while admiring the views of the Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl volcanoes and visiting the largest pyramid in the world.

Puebla and Cholula Day Trip Itinerary

Your journey begins with a hotel pickup, followed by a drive east from Mexico City. As we cross the mountains via the motorway, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl volcanoes.

Our first stop is Cholula, the oldest continuously inhabited city in America. Here, we'll explore the archaeological area dominated by the Cholula Great Pyramid (Tlachihualtépetl), the largest pyramid in the world, concealed behind a massive mountain. At the pyramid's summit, you will find the Church of Our Lady of Remedies.

Next, we will proceed to Puebla, also known as "The City of Angels", which is said to have been created by angels for the enjoyment of mortals.

In Puebla, you'll have a break to enjoy a meal and sample the diverse regional cuisine. It's essential to try mole poblano, a local specialty and one of the most iconic dishes in all of Mexico.

After lunch, we'll tour the historic center of Puebla, where we will explore the colonial architectural monuments that have earned Puebla its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The itinerary includes visiting key sites such as the Plaza de las Armas, the Cathedral, and the Santo Domingo Church.

Before our return to Mexico City, we'll stop at an artisanal market, where you can find exquisite pieces of fine ceramics known as Talavera pottery.
