On this day trip we'll explore two of Mexico's oldest cities, Puebla and Cholula, admiring the volcanoes of Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl, and visiting the largest pyramid in the world.
Puebla and Cholula Day Trip Itinerary
After hotel pickup, we will travel east from Mexico City, crossing the mountains by motorway with views of the Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl volcanoes.
Our first stop will be Cholula, the oldest continuously inhabited city in America. We will visit the archaeological area, featuring the Cholula Great Pyramid (Tlachihualtépetl), the largest pyramid in the world, with the church of Our Lady of Remedies located at its peak.
The tour will then continue to Puebla, known as "The City of Angels." Here, you will have free time to eat and try local specialties including mole poblano.
Afterwards, we will explore the historic centre of Puebla, highlighting its colonial architecture and UNESCO World Heritage status. Notable sites include Plaza de las Armas, the Cathedral, and Santo Domingo Church.
Before returning to Mexico City, we will visit an artisanal market for Talavera pottery.
Hotel pickup
This tour includes pickup from hotels in the following tourist areas: historic center, Polanco, and Zona Rosa. If your hotel is not in these areas, we will meet you at the Hotel Emporio Reforma.
Requirements in Mexico City
On the day of your tour, you must have your Multiple Migration Form (FMM) or a photo of it. This document is required for return to Mexico City after the tour.
