Discover the enchanting small insects that migrate thousands of miles from Canada to Mexico, visiting a picturesque lakeside town on this journey to a monarch butterfly sanctuary and Valle de Bravo.
Description
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the Sheraton María Isabel Hotel to commence our adventure towards Valle de Bravo and the Butterfly Sanctuary.
After a scenic drive of 2.5 hours, we will reach the Piedra Herrada Butterfly Sanctuary. Here, you have the option to explore by foot or on horseback.
Upon arrival, prepare for a 3.5-hour walk through breathtaking valleys teeming with monarch butterflies, a remarkable species known to travel over 3,100 miles (more than 5,000 km) from southern Canada to this stunning area.
Following this, enjoy a half-hour of free time to unwind and grab a snack before we continue to our next location.
We will then proceed to Valle de Bravo, recognized as one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns), situated by the serene lake that shares its name. Here, we will explore the impressive Velo de Novia Natural Park, featuring a magnificent waterfall cascading more than 30 meters (100 feet). You will have around 1.5 hours to engage with this natural wonder.
Ultimately, after a fulfilling 12 hours of exploration, we will return to the original meeting point. We look forward to seeing you!
