Cajas National Park Tour

At 8:30 am, meet us in Parque Calderón to board our bus for the journey to Cajas National Park, which is 50 minutes away.

First, we will arrive at the Llaviucu Lagoon, situated nearly 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) above sea level, and begin a 1-hour 30-minute hiking route to admire local flora and fauna.

After the hike, we will stop at Loma de las Tres Cruces, which marks the continental divide between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, over 13,000 feet (4,000 metres) above sea level. Here, enjoy views of over 200 glacier lakes throughout the park.

Next, we will briefly stop to see Toreadore Lake before visiting the Polilepys Forest, known for its thousand-year-old trees and biological diversity.

After walking, we will regain our energy with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, including potato soup and a second course, which could be trout or roast chicken.

Finally, we will return to Parque Calderón in Cuenca, arriving by 3 pm to say our goodbyes.
