Cava San Miguel & Hostería dos Chorreras Guided Tour

On this guided tour of Cava San Miguel, we'll uncover the secrets of how Ecuador's most famous rum is made in the heart of the Equatorian Andes. We'll also visit Hostería dos Chorreras. This experience provides the perfect combination of history, nature, and flavour!

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at the selected starting point and drive to Cava San Miguel, 15 minutes from the center of Cuenca. Upon arrival, we will take a guided tour to explain how sugarcane is transformed into a drink at high altitude, detailing its origins and unique aromas.

Thousands of oak barrels in the Cava San Miguel cellars store distilled sugarcane drinks. The quality of the wood and strict controls ensure these spirits turn into Ecuador’s only natural rum.

The tour concludes with a rum tasting. Afterwards, we'll travel to Hostería dos Chorreras, a 30-minute journey to the Cajas National Park. Here, you'll have 3 hours of free time to enjoy the landscape, take tractor rides, fish for trout, and take out a boat. You can also visit the warehouse and enjoy a meal at the restaurant or in the Chocolatería, sampling Equatorian aromatic cacao.

Lastly, we'll return to Cuenca, concluding this 6-hour tour.
