On this guided tour of Cava San Miguel, we'll uncover the secrets of how Ecuador's most famous rum is made in the Equatorian Andes. This experience combines history, nature, and flavour!

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at your selected starting point and drive to Cava San Miguel, only 15 minutes from Cuenca's center.

Upon arrival at the rum factory, we'll conduct a guided tour explaining how sugarcane is transformed into rum at high altitude. Learn about its origins and enjoy its aromas!

Thousands of oak barrels in the Cava San Miguel cellars store distilled sugarcane drinks. The quality of the wood and strict barrel controls allow for the creation of Ecuador’s only natural rum.

The tour concludes with a rum tasting.

Next, we will head to Hostería dos Chorreras, located in Cajas National Park, after a short 30-minute journey. Surrounded by lagoons, this estate offers 3 hours of free time to enjoy the landscape, tractor rides, fishing, and boating. You can also visit the warehouse and dine at the restaurant by the stream or at the Chocolatería, where Equatorian aromatic cacao is available for tasting.

Finally, we'll return to Cuenca, concluding this 6-hour tour.
