Cava San Miguel & Hostería dos Chorreras Guided Tour

On this guided tour of Cava San Miguel, we'll uncover the secrets of how Ecuador's most famous rum is made in the heart of the Equatorian Andes. We'll also visit Hostería dos Chorreras for a combination of history, nature, and flavour!

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at your selected starting point and drive to Cava San Miguel, only 15 minutes from the centre of Cuenca.

Upon arrival at the rum factory, we'll take you on a guided tour explaining how sugarcane is transformed into a drink at this high altitude. Learn about its origins and enjoy its unique aromas.

Thousands of oak barrels in the Cava San Miguel cellars store the distilled drinks. The spirits become Ecuador’s only natural and authentic rum through careful monitoring and selection.

The tour concludes with a rum tasting. Cheers!

Next, we’ll head to the western mountain range and after a 30-minute journey, arrive at Hostería dos Chorreras in Cajas National Park. This estate is a natural paradise surrounded by lagoons and vegetation from the Andes páramo ecosystem.

You will have 3 hours of free time to enjoy the landscape, take tractor rides, fish for trout, or enjoy a boat ride. You can also visit the warehouse and have a meal at the restaurant or in the Chocolatería, where you can taste aromatic Equatorian cacao.

Finally, we'll return to Cuenca, concluding this 6-hour tour.
