Explore Ecuador's remarkable natural wonders on this day trip to Cajas National Park and Cacao de la Loma, departing from Cuenca and concluding in Guayaquil.
Description
The adventure begins with pickup at your hotel in Cuenca at the scheduled time. Prepare for this excursion to Cajas National Park and Cacao de la Loma.
Our first destination is Cajas National Park, a designated World Heritage Site. Enjoy a hike through the Polylepis forest, a protected area in southern Ecuador and the primary water source for Cuenca.
We will traverse the continental divide, stopping intermittently to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding us. A highlight of the trip includes a panoramic view of the park's 200-plus glacial lakes. A midday break will take place at a restaurant for lunch.
Next, we visit a vibrant market, where you can immerse yourself in local life and taste exotic fruits such as bananas, tangerines, coconuts, dragon fruit, and passion fruit.
We will then head to Cacao de la Loma, a family farm cultivating cocoa beans. Here, we will explore the intricacies of cocoa, the primary ingredient for making chocolate.
Before concluding the tour, enjoy a trout dish with rice or salad and a beverage. After 7 to 8 hours, we will drop you off at your hotel or designated point in Guayaquil.
