Explore Ecuador's remarkable natural wonders on this day trip to Cajas National Park and Cacao de la Loma, departing from Cuenca and concluding in Guayaquil.
Description
We will commence the adventure with a pickup at your hotel in Cuenca. Our first destination is Cajas National Park, a World Heritage Site. You will hike through the Polylepis forest, an important protected area and the main water source for Cuenca.
During the journey, we will traverse the continental divide, with stops to appreciate the natural surroundings, including a viewpoint of the park's 200-plus glacial lakes. A midday break at a restaurant will provide time for lunch.
The next stop is a lively market, where you can experience local life and taste exotic fruits such as bananas, tangerines, coconuts, dragon fruit, and passion fruit.
We will then visit Cacao de la Loma, a family farm cultivating cocoa beans. Here, we will explore the details of cocoa, essential for making chocolate.
Before the tour concludes, enjoy a meal of trout with rice or salad and a refreshing beverage. After approximately 7 to 8 hours, we will drop you off at your hotel or designated point in Guayaquil.
