Explore Ecuador's remarkable natural wonders on this day trip to Cajas National Park and Cacao de la Loma, departing from Cuenca and concluding in Guayaquil.

Description

The adventure begins with a pickup at your hotel in Cuenca. We will head to Cajas National Park and Cacao de la Loma.

Our first stop is Cajas National Park, a World Heritage Site. Expect a hike through the Polylepis forest, which is a protected area and the main water source for Cuenca.

During the tour, we will traverse the continental divide towards the lowlands, making intermittent stops to admire the surroundings. A highlight will be at a viewpoint showcasing over 200 glacial lakes. A midday break for lunch at a restaurant is included.

Next, we will visit a lively market to experience local life, where you can taste exotic fruits like bananas, tangerines, coconuts, dragon fruit, and passion fruit.

We will then move on to Cacao de la Loma, a family-run cocoa bean farm. Here, you can sample fresh cocoa bean pulp and learn about the cocoa-making process for chocolate.

The tour concludes with a meal of trout served with rice or salad and a beverage. After 7 to 8 hours, we will drop you off at your hotel or designated point in Guayaquil.
