On this trekking route through the Cajas National Park, we will walk through the valley of Llaviucu and encounter alpacas.
Hiking in the Cajas National Park
At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cuenca and travel by minibus to the town of Sayausí, the gateway to Cajas National Park.
Upon arrival, we will depart on a hiking route through the park, which includes the Llaviucu Valley. We will walk along a millenary Inca trail while learning about the glacial origins of this area.
During the hike, we will see highlights of the national park such as the Llaviucu lagoon, an abandoned German brewery, and meadows where wild horses and alpacas graze.
After a morning exploring the landscapes of Ecuador, you will return to your hotel at 2 pm.
