On this trekking route through the Cajas National Park, we will explore one of the key natural attractions of Cuenca, including a visit to the valley of Llaviucu and encounters with alpacas.
Hiking in the Cajas National Park
At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cuenca and travel by minibus to the town of Sayausí, which serves as the gateway to Cajas National Park.
Upon arrival, we will disembark and begin our hiking route through the park, focusing on Llaviucu Valley, a designated natural area. The hike will follow a millenary Inca trail, where participants will learn about the glacial origins of the region.
Along the way, we will encounter notable sites within the national park, including the Llaviucu lagoon, a historical abandoned German brewery, and meadows with wild horses and alpacas.
After a full morning of exploration, we will return to your hotel at 2 pm.
