Adventurers, join us on this trekking activity along the Inca Trail from Culebrillas to Ingapirca, one of the best-preserved routes of this ancient civilisation!
Description
After picking you up at your accommodation in Cuenca at the indicated time, we'll go to the starting point of the trekking route along the Inca Trail. We'll explore the landscapes from Culebrillas to Ingapirca.
The hike begins at the Culebrillas lagoon, known for its natural beauty. The paved path leads us through ranches and tampus built by the Incas. We will share the history of this path that connected Quito with Cusco.
During the hike, we'll reach an elevation of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet) above sea level, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. At the end of the trek, we'll arrive at the village of San José, where we can interact with local children and take a break, enjoying a typical lunch to refuel.
Afterwards, we will visit the archaeological site of Ingapirca, one of the most significant Inca sites in Ecuador. We will discuss the Cañari and Inca cultures as we explore the ruins.
After 10 hours of trekking along the Inca Trail, we'll return to your hotel in Cuenca.
