Adventurers, join us on this trekking activity along the Inca Trail from Culebrillas to Ingapirca, one of the best-preserved routes of this ancient civilisation!
Description
After picking you up at your accommodation in Cuenca at the indicated time, we'll proceed to the starting point of the trekking route along the Inca Trail. The walk begins at the Culebrillas lagoon, featuring a paved path that leads through ranches and tampus built by the Incas. We will provide historical context about this path that connected Quito with Cusco.
During the hike, we will reach a maximum elevation of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet) above sea level, offering impressive panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The trek will take us to the village of San José, where we will interact with local children and enjoy a typical lunch.
After our break, we will visit the archaeological site of Ingapirca, a significant Inca site in Ecuador. While exploring, we will discuss the rich histories of the Cañari and Inca cultures.
Following 10 hours of trekking along the Inca Trail, we will return you to your hotel in Cuenca.
