Adventurers, join us on this trekking activity along the Inca Trail from Culebrillas to Ingapirca, one of the best-preserved routes of this ancient civilisation!
Description
After picking you up at your accommodation in Cuenca at the indicated time, we'll go to the starting point of the trekking route along the Inca Trail. We will explore the landscapes from Culebrillas to Ingapirca.
The walk begins at the Culebrillas lagoon. We'll hike along a paved path through ranches and tampus built by the Incas. Learn about the history of this path that once connected Quito with Cusco.
Halfway through, we will reach a maximum elevation of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet) above sea level, rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. At the end, we'll arrive at the village of San José, where we'll take a break and enjoy a typical lunch.
After replenishing our energy, we'll visit the archaeological site of Ingapirca, one of the most important Inca sites in Ecuador. During the tour, we will discuss the Cañari and Inca cultures.
After 10 hours of trekking along the Inca Trail, we'll return you to your hotel in Cuenca.
