During this tour starting from Cuiabá, you'll explore the wetlands of Mato Grosso by boat and safari, known for its exceptional biodiversity as the largest wetland in the world.
Safari Through the Mato Grosso Marshland
Pickup will occur at Avenida São Sebastião at 7:30 am, followed by travel south towards the Mato Grosso wetlands. Upon arrival, a 65-kilometer (40-mile) safari along the Transpantaneira highway will commence, providing opportunities to observe caimans, macaws, toucans, and the jaguar. The Mato Grosso marshlands were designated as a World Heritage Site in 1988.
At noon, a stop will be made at a lodge for a refreshing swim in the pool followed by a typical Midwest Brazilian lunch, which includes grilled meat, chicken, rice, beans, steaks, and salads.
Following lunch, a boat ride will last an hour, allowing further exploration of the region's natural wonders and the effects of annual floods on the ecosystem. The tour will conclude with a return to Cuiabá, arriving at the meeting point by 7:30 pm.
