Safari Through the Mato Grosso Marshland

We'll pick you up at Avenida São Sebastião at 7:30 am and travel south to the Mato Grosso wetlands. Upon arrival, we will embark on a 65-kilometer (40-mile) safari along the Transpantaneira highway, exploring the region's biodiversity. Here, we will have opportunities to observe caimans, macaws, toucans, and the jaguar, a highlight of the area. The Mato Grosso marshlands were designated as a World Heritage Site in 1988.

At noon, we will arrive at a lodge to enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool followed by a typical Midwest Brazilian lunch, which includes grilled meat, chicken in sauce or roast, rice, beans, steaks, and salads.

Later, we will take a boat ride to further explore the region's natural wonders and how the annual floods impact the ecological balance. The boat trip will last one hour, after which we will return to the departure pier and head back to Cuiabá, arriving at the meeting point by 7:30 pm.
