Explore a unique place in Chilean Patagonia with this activity from Malalcahuello, which will take us on an unforgettable hiking route to the top of the Lonquimay volcano.

Lonquimay Volcano Hiking Excursion

We'll meet at 7:30 am at Kilometer 0 of the Lonquimay Volcano Crossing. From this point in Malalcahuello, we'll begin an ascent to the summit of the mountain.

The hiking route will cover 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) with a medium-high difficulty level, making several stops to enjoy the scenery. We'll cross a beautiful area of Chilean Patagonia at the foot of the Andes.

Reaching an altitude of 2,865 meters (9,400 feet) at the summit, we will learn about the mountain's Mapuche origin and admire other Andean volcanoes such as Llaima, Villarrica, Lanín, Quetrupillán, and the Sierra Nevada.

At the top, we will observe a crater spanning more than 800 meters (2,625 feet) across and will enjoy an energy bar, a candy, and an isotonic drink.

Finally, we'll start the descent back to the meeting point, arriving at approximately 3:30 pm.
