Lonquimay Volcano Hiking Excursion

We'll meet at 7:30 am at Kilometer 0 of the Lonquimay Volcano Crossing. From this point in Malalcahuello, we'll begin an ascent to the summit of the mountain.

During this hiking route, which has a medium-high difficulty, we will cover 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) and make several stops to enjoy the scenery. The hike traverses a beautiful area of Chilean Patagonia, located at the foot of the Andes.

At an altitude of 2,865 meters (9,400 feet), we will reach the summit of the Lonquimay volcano. The name of this mountain is of Mapuche origin. While at the peak, we will admire other Andean volcanoes such as Llaima, Villarrica, Lanín, Quetrupillán, and the Sierra Nevada.

At the top, we will observe an impressive crater spanning more than 800 meters (2,625 feet) across. We will have an energy bar, a candy, and an isotonic drink while enjoying the views.

Finally, we will start our descent back to the meeting point, arriving at 3:30 pm.
