In this hiking tour of the Oropéndola waterfall and Las Pailas, we'll discover two essential natural sites of Rincón de la Vieja National Park.
Description
At your chosen time, we will meet at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. From this rural lodging in Rincon de la Vieja National Park, we will begin a hiking tour through this protected area in northern Costa Rica.
The first part of the route involves a 3.5 km hike to the Las Pailas sector, known for its volcanic landscapes. During the tour, we will observe fumaroles, mini geysers, and bubbling volcanic mud pits.
As we explore, we will encounter more than 300 species of birds and native wildlife, including armadillos, coatis, and iguanas. We will also look for various types of monkeys, such as white-faced, howler, and spider monkeys, showcasing the region's biodiversity.
Continuing through the province of Guanacaste, we will head towards the Oropéndola waterfall, which cascades from a height of 25 meters into a natural pool of the Blanco River.
We will take a brief rest by the waterfall before returning to the meeting point, with an estimated total duration of 3.5 hours.
