In this hiking tour of the Oropéndola waterfall and Las Pailas, we'll discover two of the main natural jewels of the Rincón de la Vieja National Park.

Description

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. From this rural lodging in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, we'll embark on a hiking tour to explore this protected area in northern Costa Rica.

In the first part of the route, we'll hike 3.5 km until we reach the Las Pailas sector. This area is known for its volcanic landscapes, featuring fumaroles, mini geysers, and bubbling volcanic mud pits.

During the tour, we'll observe over 300 species of birds and native animals such as armadillos, coatis, and iguanas. We will also try to spot various monkeys, including white-faced, howler, and spider monkeys, highlighting the biodiversity of Rincón de la Vieja.

After exploring the local fauna and flora, we'll continue towards the Oropéndola waterfall, which drops from a height of 25 meters into a natural pool of the Blanco River.

We'll rest for a few minutes on the banks of the waterfall and then return to the meeting point, arriving approximately 3.5 hours after departure.
