Description
Prepare yourself for an invigorating mountain bike adventure across the stunning vistas of Rincón de la Vieja. Arrive at a time that suits you at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelín, where we will assist you in selecting suitable cycling gear and share an overview of the technical aspects of our route.
Once equipped, we will set off on our biking journey through Rincon de la Vieja National Park, a remarkable protected area famous for its breathtaking natural landscapes found in northern Costa Rica. The choice of the difficulty level will determine the length and duration of our cycling route.
As we navigate the verdant scenery, we will be surrounded by an incredible array of biodiversity. Be vigilant for native species such as capuchin monkeys, coatis, armadillos, and peacocks. Additionally, we will discover Guanacaste province's natural gems, including the stunning Oropéndola waterfall, recognized as one of the most beautiful falls in this region of Costa Rica!
After experiencing the ecological wonders of Rincon de la Vieja National Park, we will wrap up our biking excursion by returning to our initial meeting point.
Options
During your booking, you can select one of these three options:
Beginner level
For beginners, we will navigate a 1.5-2.5 hour route covering a total of 12.5 km. This path consists of 5.5 km of ascent and 7 km of descent.
Intermediate level
If you opt for the intermediate level, you will experience a 16-km route, featuring 5.5 km of climbing and 10.5 km of descending. The total duration for this route is approximately 2-3 hours.
Advanced level
For those seeking a challenge, the advanced option includes a total distance of 30 km, with an itinerary lasting 3-4 hours divided into two segments. The first segment involves 5.5 km of uphill and 7 km of downhill riding, while the second includes 17.5 km, with diverse elevation changes throughout the course.
