Discover one of Árskógssandur's best-kept secrets! Step aboard our traditional oak boat and experience the tranquillity of whale watching in these scenic surroundings.

Whale-Watching Experience

We'll meet at the agreed time at Kaldi Hotel in Árskógssandur, a small fishing village near Akureyri. Upon arrival, we'll board a traditional Icelandic oak boat ready to set sail.

Once sufficiently far from the coast, you can start enjoying the experience. Witnessing whales in their natural environment amidst the turquoise waters of Eyjafjörður is unique. Our expert guide will provide insights about the whales, allowing you to understand their behavior while observing them swim and jump. A hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll will be served on board.

After this memorable whale-watching experience, we will return to Árskógssandur.

Whale Sighting

Whales are unpredictable creatures, and sightings can vary due to factors like ocean currents, winds, and weather conditions. The Arctic climate is subject to rapid changes, affecting animal behavior.

Please note that the duration of the tour may vary based on weather and the time required to locate the whales. Activities are conducted with respect for their natural habitat.
