Details of the Private Trip

Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Dakar at the appointed time. We will then proceed to our first destination, the magnificent Bandia Nature Reserve. As we explore this enchanting wilderness, you will come across a captivating forest filled with baobab trees, emblematic of the African savanna.

Upon arrival in Bandia, we will transition from the bus to an off-road vehicle to kick off an authentic adventure within this vast nature reserve. If you have ever envisioned participating in an African safari, now is your chance. Expect to see zebras, rhinos, giraffes, monkeys, buffaloes, and ostriches roaming in their natural environment.

After an exhilarating tour of the reserve, we will continue our journey to Lac Rose, renowned for being the concluding point of the Paris-Dakar Rally until 2008. Once there, you will have time to grab a meal before embarking on a thrilling 4x4 journey around this breathtaking lake with its distinctive pink waters, located just a stone's throw from the ocean, separated by a line of sand dunes.

During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to observe locals as they harvest salt from the lake using age-old traditions. Should the conditions allow, take a refreshing 15-minute swim in the stunning rose-tinted waters. Following the ATV adventure, we will board the bus for our return to Dakar, which will occur approximately 9 to 10 hours after the trip's commencement.

Lac Rose

Please note that during Senegal's rainy season, the color of the lake may diminish due to reduced sunlight, typically occurring between August and October.Swimming in Lac Rose will only be permitted if conditions are favorable. Should time allow, you will enjoy around 15 minutes in the lake's salty waters. Be sure to bring your swimwear!
