Bassari Country + Saloum Delta: 10 Day Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Dakar - Pink Lake

Arrival in Dakar. Transfer to Lac Rose for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Pink Lake - Kaolack

After breakfast, explore the Lac Rose area and its landscapes. Free time for lunch, then visit the market in Kaolack. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Kaolack.

Day 3: Kaolack - Tambacounda - Mako

Breakfast, then travel to Tambacounda. Free time for lunch, followed by a visit to Niokolo Koba National Park. Check into Mako camp, with a potential evening hike to spot hippos before dinner.

Day 4: Mako - Bassari Country - Kedougou

Breakfast and travel to Bassari Country. Check into a hotel in Bedick, followed by a one-hour hike to explore local villages. Dinner included at the hotel.

Day 5: Kedougou - Dindefelo - Dande - Tambacounda

Explore Dindefelo village and visit the Dindefelo waterfall. Optional 2.5-hour hike to Dande, with lunch in nature. Dinner at a central hotel in Tambacounda.

Day 6: Tambacounda - Toubacouta - Faoye

Breakfast, then travel to Saloum Delta National Park. Boat ride from Soukouta to Faoye, followed by free time. Lunch and dinner on your own at the camp.

Day 7: Faoye - Joal Fadiouth - Marfafaco

Visit the shell cemetery on Joal-Fadiouth island, then return to Saloum Delta and have the day free in Marfafaco.

Day 8: Marfafaco

Breakfast and boat trip on Saloum Delta. Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the village of Marfafaco. Dinner at a local camp.

Day 9: Marfafaco - Somone

Travel to Somone lagoon for birdwatching. Overnight accommodation in Somone.

Day 10: Somone - Dakar Airport

Breakfast overlooking the lagoon, free time for swimming. Transfer back to Dakar Airport for departure.
