Dakar and Goree Island Private Trip

After collecting you at the scheduled time from your hotel in Dakar, we'll head to the city's port where a ferry will be waiting to take to the island of Goree. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Here, you will learn about a significant chapter in the history of Senegal and the world, specifically regarding the Atlantic slave trade, with visits to the House of Slaves and the Historical Museum of Senegal. Goree is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You'll walk through the narrow streets and view the colonial houses. There will be time for you to have lunch at your leisure before we return to Dakar by ferry.

Upon arrival, a guided tour through the historic city center will take place. This includes visits to Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, the markets of Kermel and Sandaga, and the city's cathedral. We will also explore the Medina neighborhood, viewing the Grand Mosque of Dakar and the Tilene market.

The tour of Dakar concludes back at your hotel, approximately 8 to 9 hours after the tour starts.
