Goree Island Private Trip

We will collect you from your hotel at around 9 am before heading in an air-conditioned vehicle to the port of Dakar. There, a ferry will be waiting to take you to Goree Island.

After a journey of approximately 20 minutes, we will arrive on the island off the coast of Senegal's Cape Verde Peninsula. Due to its role in Africa's slave trade for three centuries, Goree was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978.

To learn more about this period in history, we will visit the House of Slaves, a museum dedicated to the millions held captive and sold here. The practice ended in 1848 when France abolished slavery.

Later, we will walk through the narrow streets where you will see colonial houses adorned with Bougainvillea flowers. You will also discover the beach and observe the local lifestyle.

At the end of the trip, we will return to the ferry and sail back to Dakar, where the bus will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
