Joal-Fadiouth and Tribal Village Private Trip
At 9 am, we will collect you from your hotel in Dakar and start the tour of Senegal's Petite Côte coastline in a 4x4 vehicle. Our first stop is a tribal village of the Serer people, the third largest ethnic group in the country.
Experience the traditional way of life by exploring local houses, schools, and shops. Visit a local market showcasing traditional handmade products by the tribespeople.
After the village, we will continue to Joal, a settlement discovered by the Portuguese in the 15th century, and the birth city of Senegal's first president, Leopold Senghor. We will visit the fishing port, one of the largest on the Petite Côte coast.
Next, we will go to the neighboring commune of Fadiouth, crossing a wooden bridge that connects both localities. The island of Fadiouth is known for its clam shell composition.
We will visit the cemetery, which contains the remains of both Christians and Muslims, and learn about the history of the baobab tree in homage to the deceased, along with a traditional church.
We return to Joal, where you have the option to paddle along the Atlantic waters in a canoe. The tour concludes in Dakar, with drop-off at your hotel between 9 and 10 hours after the start of the activity.
