What to expect

At 9 am, we will collect you from your hotel in Dakar and drive inland towards the district of Thiès. After approximately one hour, we will arrive at Keur Moussa, a Benedictine monastery where monks live and worship. You will enter the shrine to witness a genuine Sunday African mass.

Upon entering the monastery, you will hear the sound of Gregorian chanting which marks the start of the ceremony. Traditional West African instruments, such as the kora, balafon, and djembe, will accompany the singing.

After the mass, we will take you to the monastery's shop, where you can find a range of handicrafts made by the Senegalese monks to purchase as souvenirs.

The trip concludes back in Dakar, where we will drop you at your hotel around 1 pm.
