Habarana Day Trip

At 10 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla for a 30-minute drive to Habarana. Upon arrival, we will start exploring Habarana to gain insight into local lifestyles.

The ox-drawn cart serves as the primary means of transportation in this community. You will have the opportunity to ride in one of these carts to the shores of Lake Habarana.

Once at the lake, we will enjoy a cruise to explore its flora and fauna from the boat. After the cruise, we will dock by a rice field to learn about the significance of rice cultivation in Sri Lanka and take a stroll through the rice paddies.

Our next stop will be the home of a local family, where we will learn how to prepare several traditional Sri Lankan dishes. We will then taste our creations and enjoy a buffet lunch featuring rice, curry, fish, salad, and crispy papadam.

We will conclude the trip with a return drive to your hotel in Dambulla, expected to arrive by 1:30 pm.
