The Habarana Day Trip begins with a 10 am pickup from your hotel in Dambulla, followed by a 30-minute drive to Habarana. Upon arrival, you will explore Habarana to gain insights into the lifestyle of the locals.
The ox-drawn cart serves as the main transportation method in this community. You will experience this mode of travel to reach Lake Habarana.
At the lake, enjoy a relaxing cruise to observe the local flora and fauna from the boat. The next stop will be a visit to a rice field, where you will learn about the significance of rice cultivation in Sri Lanka and have the opportunity to stroll through the rice paddies.
You will visit the home of a local family, who will guide you in preparing various traditional Sri Lankan dishes. Afterward, you can enjoy a buffet lunch featuring rice, curry, fish, salad, and crispy papadam.
Finally, you will return to your hotel in Dambulla, arriving by 1:30 pm.
