Polonnaruwa & Pidurangala Day Trip
Your adventure begins at 8 am with a pickup from your hotel in Dambulla. We will then proceed to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa via minibus, a journey that will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Upon arrival, we will transition from the minibus to bicycles and set off to discover the ruins designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This site is revered as one of Sri Lanka's oldest kingdoms, established by King Vijayabahu in 1070.
After immersing ourselves in the historical remnants, we will travel to the countryside where an ox-drawn cart will provide a unique ride through the rural landscape. Following this, we will enjoy a brief boat ride on Bendiweva Lake, followed by an exciting tuk-tuk tour of the surrounding area.
Next, we will visit Pidurangala, a tranquil location perfect for escaping the city's hustle and bustle while reconnecting with nature.
During your tour of this Buddhist complex, you will encounter the ruins of an ancient monastery. For the more adventurous, there is the option to climb Pidurangala Rock for stunning panoramic views of Sigiriya.
Concluding our adventure, we will return you to your hotel in Dambulla, with an expected arrival time of 2 pm.
