Bathurst Island Tour

We'll meet at Cullen Bay Terminal at 7:30 am and board a ferry to Bathurst Island. The journey lasts two and a half hours, providing views of the Timor Sea.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the Mission Heritage Gallery to learn about the aboriginal villages and traditional spots, including the Tiwi style Catholic church. You'll also see the wooden sculptures of birds from Tiwi mythology.

Next, we'll visit a local village to engage with the Tiwi Islands' aboriginal community to explore their rituals and dances, along with their body art, which carries spiritual significance and social meaning.

Following this, we will have a traditional tea accompanied by a small lunch. The tour will continue with visits to different craft shops to observe local traditional sculpture making.

The tour concludes with a ferry ride back to the meeting point, arriving in Darwin at 6 pm.
