2-Day Sahara Desert Tour

Have a unique experience among oasis, dunes, and troglodyte villages! On this 2-day Sahara Desert tour we'll cross breathtaking landscapes, discover millenary Amazigh traditions and sleep under the stars of the desert.

Tour Details

Day 1: Djerba - Chahbania - Tataouine - Chenini - Ksar Ghilane

At the agreed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Djerba and head south. After a 1.5-hour drive, we'll stop at the salt lake of Chahbania for stunning photos. Next, in Tataouine, we'll take a 1-hour walk through its traditional market.

Afterward, we'll visit the village of Chenini and enjoy a traditional Amazigh lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, we'll proceed to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane for a natural hot spring bath and optional camel or quad bike rides.

At sunset, we'll arrive at Zemla camp, where you can learn to bake bread in the sand. We'll dine under the stars with traditional dishes and have free time to relax.

Day 2: Ksar Ghilane - Tamazret - Sidi Idriss - Toujane - Djerba

After breakfast, we'll head to the mountainous region of Matmata. Our first stop will be in Tamazret for mint tea. Then, in Matmata, we'll visit a local family in a troglodyte house and enjoy a homemade lunch.

Next, we'll visit the Sidi Idriss troglodyte hotel, a site from the Star Wars saga. Before returning to Djerba, we'll stop in Toujane for souvenirs. We'll conclude the tour with a return to your hotel in Djerba between 3 and 4 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes 1 night in a haima at Zemla camp. You can choose from single, double, triple, and quadruple tents, all with electricity and shared washing areas, separated by gender.
