On this day trip to Ksar Ghilane and Matmata, we'll explore an oasis, enjoy hot springs, and discover troglodyte houses.

Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Djerba and head towards Ksar Ghilane, approximately 3 hours away. During our drive, we'll cross the ancient El Kantara, a Roman bridge spanning 7 kilometers (4.3 miles).

Halfway, we’ll stop at Medenine for a local café break to discuss the day's itinerary and enjoy coffee if desired.

Continuing through villages like Beni Kheddach, we'll reach Ksar Ghilane, spending 2 to 3 hours learning about local nomadic lifestyles and admiring the landscape. Options include swimming in hot water springs, and participating in camel rides or ATV tours.

Following our time in Ksar Ghilane, a delicious lunch will be provided featuring local dishes such as soup, salad, pastries, and couscous. After lunch, we’ll visit Matmata to see troglodyte houses, where you can enjoy rosemary tea and homemade bread with olive oil and honey.

On our return to Djerba, we will take the Berber Trail, stopping for 30 minutes at Tamazret, Toujane, and Ksar Metameur, providing opportunities for photos. The total trip duration is 8 hours before we drop you off at your hotel.
